THIS EVENT was attended by six Handlebar Club Members; myself the above mentioned, our President Rod Littlewood, Andy Lear, Nick Stavri, Jörg Diamantopoulos and the ever present Dan Sederowsky, whose photography illustrates this report with his kind permission.

Also present were Ted and Stella Sedman. Ted is a formar Handlebar Club Member, and constant winner of the Chinese moustache Category. This Championship was no exception to that rule, and Ted carried off the 1st Prize in Chinese once again.

I carried off 3rd Prize in the English Moustache Category. This is the first time that a Handlebar Club member has a won a prize in this Category for a very long time.

The Championships was held on the 19th March 2011 at der Filderhalle, in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, near Stuttgart. The event was hosted by Bart & Kultur Club Belle Moustache, who will also host the World Beard and Moustache Championships in 2013.

One of the prizes given to first place winners was a barrel of splendid Stuttgart Beer, which winner Ted kindly donated to the cleaning ladies in the Hotel... But not until we had made quite a considerable hole in it!

Before that we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant adjoining the Filderhalle. The restaurant had actually closed by the time we arrived. However once they discovered who we were, they opened up the kitchen once again and the staff produced a most excellent dinner. It had been a delightful weekend.
